ITV has given many talented actors since it started based on popularity or talent. But Harshad Chopda is one such actor who changed the face of ITV who is not just extremely talented and the most good looking but most loved ITV Actor a combination found rarely on ITV and so he is special to his fans. Personal Life
Harshad Chopda was born on Born on 17 May 1983 in Jain Marwadi family in Gondia near Nagpur, Maharastra. As a kid Harshad Chopda was a very shy kid but loved watching bollywood films as bollywood actors fascinated him a lot as a kid..Though he wanted to be an actor he kept his secret desire to himself and persued computer engineering to fullfil his parents dream and went to Pune. He completed his graduation in computer engineering from Mordern College of Engineering. Though he was an engineer his heart lied in Bollywood and acting so he finally gathered courge to share his dream with his family. His family did not approve of his dreams of being an actor initially as it was not a safe job but somehow they agreed and gave him permission to pursue his dreams. And so his journey to become an actor started and he left for Mumbai.
Journey From Being No One To Being The Most Loved Star Of ITV
Initially he tried his luck in modelling as it was a perfect platform to reach the industry also he needed financial help in Mumbai. On 21st august 2004 he participated in CITADEL Mr & Miss Pune with the hope of winning it for which he worked very hard but walked away with the Mr. Pune 2004 1st Runners-up title. Then he again tried his luck and participated in Grasim Mr. India in 2006 where he won best smile award but not the title. When he didnt win he got really upset but his sister Harsha who was always a supporter of his dreams wrote him a letter and motivated him. So with all the motivation he kept trying his luck and did ramp shows for ZOD and Launch of War of the DJ’s III with Rohit Verma. Along with modelling he kept giving several auditions and finally he got offer as a negative character Karan Shrivastav for serial Mamta in 2006 which got him the oppurtunity he was waiting for so long…Though Mamta was selected out of need bt him it opened doorways for ITV industry for him but his struggle was not over..Being inexperienced he was bullied on sets for his acting but he took every criticism with a positive mind and learned everything that he could from mamta. In the same year he was offered Left right left where he played role of Cadet Ali Baig. The show was superhit but it didnt brought him that much popularity as an actor. In 2007 he did Amber dhara but got replaced in the show by another actor as they felt he was not looking good in the show. Then he sined a Bengali Movie Ammar Bandhu which didnt got released due to financial issues. Finally in 2008 Ekta Kapoor gave him the much needed break as Prem Juneja in Kis Desh Main Hai Mera Dil which became his claim to fame. Prem Juneja was a phenomenon in every household since its first episode. His character was originally supposed to die and he left the show too but fans didnt accept that and demanded his return in the show to the extent that ekta brought him back and changed the story.
The show not only brought him international popularity but he won his first set of awards for it. Harshad was everywhere be it on magazine covers or promoting shows harshad did it all. He was also offered another Ekta show in 2008 during his break from Kis desh after prem dies in the show named Kahani Hamaray Mahabharat ki as Arjun but because of his fans demanded him to be back in the show as Prem juneja he didn’t do that Show. He won Best Naya Sadasya and best jodi award for it on Star Parivaar Awards 2008 on his birthday. Though he won several jodi awards but didnt win best actor award for the show which made him upset but God had other plans. He then did Tere Liye in 2010 which was again a super hit show and helped him win his 1st Best Actor Award at Indian Telly Awards 2010 for which he craved for a long time. He also won face of the year award for Tere Liye at ITA Awards. In 2011 he did dharampatni which was not recieved well by the audience and soon it got shut. In 2012 he joined Saubhagyavati Bhava as Raghav. He was immediately loved as Raghav and show did good too but later on due creative differences Harshad left the show. In 2013 a tragedy hit him hard and he lost his mom to cancer this shattered him and he took a break from the ITV industry to find him back. In 2014 he came back as Sahir Azeem Chaudhary a ruthless Fashion Tycoon with never seen before avatar of him. It seemed like a whole new Harshad Chopda with the new look and improved acting skills. The show did wonder with the online audience but failed to bring in trp due to which it got shut soon. A show which on in top 5 online shows came as a shock to viewers and they requested sony tv not to end it but it all went in vain.
Harshad then signed his first bollywood movie 2016 The End. It was like his childhood dream finally coming true. The movie got some mix reviews from the critics but didnt do well on box office. Harshad then signed another movie Hadsa By Chance but it got shelved due demonitization in 2017. He signed Meenu Mausi opposite sanaya irani but it got shelved too. So many set backs back to back brought his morale down but not his spirit hardwork and determination and finally he signed Bepannaah as Captain Aditya Hooda and he came back with a bang. The character connected with the audience and Captain Aditya Hooda became a phenomenon. The show did good on both BARC TRPs and online TRPS but again something happened that changed his life again. Channel politics led to the show getting shut down.
Despite trends in millions Colors TV ended the show but Aditya Hooda still lived. The audience showered all the love on him as revenge from Colors TV and made him win Best Actor Popular Award at ITA 2018 with 60% of the votes done that year in popular category. The highest votes recieved by any actor in the history of voting and first actor to win best actor award after show going off air which was later confirmed by Anu Ranjan the CEO of the awards. The love didnt stop here but it was only the beginning. He won Biz Asia TV Personality of the year 2018, Best Actor AVTA 2018, SBS Best Jodi 2018, Lions Gold Awards 2019, Best Actor Biz Asia Awards 2019, He again won second time best actor at AVTA 2019 and finally the most prestigious award which is every actor’s dream Dada Saheb Phalke International Film Festival Award 2020 as Most Favourite Actor of ITV.
He was titled 7th Asian Hearthrob 2019 by Starmometer Poll a Philipine based poll. He was titled 7th most handsome man in the world by Face Off USA. Not just titles and awards he win he also got invited to thailand 2 times and UK.
Harshad Chopda is a man who opted acting by choice and became an achiever through hardwork, dedication and determination. Though struggling initially to get into industry due to no contacts in ITV industry he managed to learn things and improved himself. With each show he earned new fans which kept increasing with each year and today he is a global phenomenon with fans not only in India but Pakistan, UK, USA, Egypt, Algeria, Cambodia, Africa, Indonesia, Thailand, SriLanka, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Malaysia, Carribean, Peru, Chile, UAE, Morroco, Turkey and many more.
Harshad Chopda’s Birthday
Harshad’s birthday is that time of the year for fans when they forget about their personal life and only wants to shower love for him. Trends r a special way to shower love on our favourite but this year fans decided to do something different then the rest and make it special for him so due to corona lockdown he doesnt feel depressed. Usually fans only trend and wish him birthdays but this year they not only wished him but did many things that they feel harshad would love to see them do as he himself is the motivation behind it. Also they kept common account name Wind Under His Wings as he once described his fans as Wind Under His Wings who help him to fly in Raj Baddhan interview in 2014.
Honestly speaking fans trended with all the love thinking it might not do as well as we usually do due to ramadan but they were so wrong. Despite Ramadan and different timings of iftaar all around the world fans didnt stop showering their love for harshad they shared their wishes for his birthday and he trended in world wide trends also no 1 in India. He also trended in Pakistan and United Arab Emirates.
The best part was that not only his fans but other fandom fans also wished him. Everyone showered their love. His birthday thread on India Forums trended in global announcements even after 17 days of his birthday. He trended in Pakistan for 20hrs nonstop and his birthday trend reached the list of most tweeted and longest running trends on the day i.e is 11:30 PM 16th May to 10:30 PM 17th May 2020.It had continued more if Twitter had not crashed in Pakistan. His birthday trend made international Twitter Moments which only the biggest celebrities with huge fan following achieve.
The best thing is that not only it trended but trended so big and most importantly harshad loved it. It felt like all the hardwork done into making it special for him paid off. Harshad not only thanked fans but replied and liked many fans replies as well which made it the best day for all HCians.
